    POSITION: Sales Associate / Budtender

    SALARY RANGE: Median Pay $13 – $20 per hour


    This position is “the face” of the cannabis industry to erase stigma and promote education. The more knowledge a Budtender has on the cannabis industry and the product they sell, the more equipped they would be for this position. It requires a driven person dedicated to customer care to ensure a quality retail experience.


    GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – Looking for a career in an exciting new industry? Our employers are now looking for dependable and highly motivated individuals who available for immediate hire. Duties include:

    • Assisting customers within retail dispensaries. 
    • Ability to interpret and execute state laws and regulations required when distributing medical cannabis.
    • Other duties as assigned. Additional Functions
    • Ability to maintain positive professional relationships with dispensary staff.
    • Ability to communicate effectively when issues arise while working in dispensary.


    One must be a team player and can drive sales to promote the overall success of the company. The Budtender will assist management with operational duties in the store, handling cash, as well as following all rules and policies.

Customer service skills have been recognized as one of the most important skills to achieve. This explains why companies want to see what level of customer service their potential employees have. You will be tested on your speed & accuracy. There will be 5 levels for the Customer Service section:


      Novice – 10 Questions 

      Adv. Beginner – 14 Questions (80% Threshold)

      Competent – 20 Questions (80% Threshold)

      Proficient – 21 Questions (85% Threshold)

      Expert – 14 Questions (90% Threshold)

      Product Knowledge

      Having knowledge of cannabis prior to employment is not required, but it is helpful for employers to see a glimpse of what you know. Therefore, they can note how much training will need to be done. Product knowledge instills trust in the customer, and it essentially helps to boost sales, as well as upsell. Customers respond to staff who are enthusiastic, excited about the product, and have the ability to answer questions confidently. Different positions require different ranges of knowledge. These questions cover information that is useful for many positions. You will be tested on your speed & accuracy. There will be 5 levels for the Product Knowledge section:


      Novice – 10 Questions 

      Adv. Beginner – 15 Questions (80% Threshold)

      Competent – 20 Questions (80% Threshold)

      Proficient – 25 Questions (85% Threshold)

Thousands of jobs are being posted each year due to the growth and higher rate of demand. Since more states are legalizing cannabis, people are choosing it as an alternative to other habits. Even though cannabis is still legal in many states, more states are legalizing medical cannabis. It is important to understand the industry and how it will impact the future. On this assessment, you will be tested on your speed & accuracy. There will be 5 levels for the Industry Knowledge section:
